Hey there, everyone. Robin the Boy Wonder here to tell you why you should listen to the latest episode of Tales of the Justice Society of America. Batman was supposed to do this but he disappeared on me, so I have to fill in. This happens a lot actually. One minute we're fighting crime in Gotham City and the next thing I know he's spending hours in this funny looking place that has silhouettes of girls over the letters XXX on the windows. He spends hours in there and comes out smelling like cigarettes and booze. This doesn't factor in all of the times I had to stand outside of the Batmobile while he and Catwoman fought inside. At least I think they were fighting. That car sure was bouncing around but Catwoman kept begging for more and calling Batman, "Big Poppa," so I don't know what was going on there. Moving on, Scott Gardner and Michael Bailey (who is short, just like me) have put out another episode of Tales and in that episode they dicsuss All-Star Squadron #26 and wouldn't you know it but I am right there on the cover, which is the bee's knees let me tell you. In the issue a bunch of other heroes and I team up to figure out where the disappearing heroes went. Mike and Scott talk about this issue a whole lot and go over why Scott doesn't like that Brainwave, Jr. guy while Mike keeps raving about the Guardian. They also discuss the ads, Mike's sexy voice and what else was going on in the DC Multiverse, whatever that is. Next time: All-Star Squadron Annual #2! Greetings, faithful listeners of Tales of the Justice Society of America. This is Superman speaking...or typing as it were. Actually I am doing neither of those things. See I've been a captive of the dastardly and oddly enough hot Ultra-Humanite for some time now and frankly it's getting a little boring here. There is literally nothing to do but watch Deathbolt do his best to try and create the beast with two backs with Ultra (which creeps me out no end) and occasionally tell Ultra that she/he/whatever is going to be defeated somebday. Due to the wacky time travel nature to what is going on I have been able to catch full episodes of Tales and boy do Scott Gardner and Mike Bailey like to hear themselves talk. I tell you...those guys can take any subject and just blather on about it for hours and from what I understand there are those that actually consider this entertaining. I have to admit that I mostly tune out but in their latest episode, the one where they cover All-Star Squadron #25, I found myself totally immersed in what their discussion. Was it their somewhat humorous discussion of the issue itself? No. Was it their discussion of what else was going on in the DC Multiverse when this issue of All-Star Squadron came out? No. So why was I so damned interested. BECAUSE THEY SPENT A GOOD BIT OF THE EPISODE TALKING ABOUT ME! THAT'S WHY! See there was an ad for Superman III movie contest (apparently they make movies about me in the future) and this set them off on a long discussion of the film and just when you think that conversation is over it picks up again. I swear...these guys need to do a Superman podcast together or something. Anyway, enjoy the episode...as much as you can at any rate. Next time: All-Star Squadron #26! ANOTHER INSTANT CLASSIC!! Join those crazy, loquacious fools, Michael Bailey, Chris Honeywell, and Scott H. Gardner, for yet another mammoth session discussing everything from the smell of the 60s Batman TV series to whether or not Rob Liefeld deserves his status as comic fandom's whipping boy. Tales of the Justice Society of America is back...just in time to fight your weekend boredom! This time Scott and Mike cover All-Star Squadron #24, which like the previous handful of All-Star issues is composed of 100% kick-ass. Why? Well, for one thing Batman and Robin show up even though Robin is pretty reckless when it comes to the whole secret identity thing. For another thing Green Lantern does something that truly impresses both Mike and Scott. Also the Tarantula gets a new and totally bad ass costume. Before the issue synopsis and commentary Scott and Mike give their thoughts on the upcoming Earth-2 based Justice Society book that was announced a few weeks back. There is little in the way of complaining and the conversation is pretty solid with less swearing than you might think. After the issue synopsis and commentary is the usual mix of ad coverage and Elsewhere in the DC Multiverse. This month, The Freaks decided to FINALLY cover the eagerly awaited "We'll Always Have Paris!" after three months of putting it off. In this bizarre episode, we find out that, in his younger days, Picard was a groupie for the Mamas And The Papas and that three Datas are better than one! Then it's on to... "CONSPIRACY"! This one will BLOW YOUR MIND! Actually, it will blow your face off first, THEN make your head explode leaving a smoking, hollowed-out trunk with a partial spinal cord hanging out.
