Welcome back to the best thing to happen to comics since... well, since ever! TALES OF THE JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA is back and this week Scott and Mike are all business, turning in a lean and mean episode as the show reaches its first bittersweet milestone -- the final issue of All-Star Comics!! Yes, you read that right, folks. Sadly, ALL-STAR COMICS reaches the end of its run with issue #74 and while the cover proclaims this issue "an EPIC JSA story", the contents seem to indicate otherwise. Not that it's a bad story, mind you! Mike and Scott have just a few problems with it. Ok... maybe more than just a few problems with it... :sigh: okay, okay... a whole lotta problems with it!! Like, for example, how Dr. Fate is a big ol' hypocrite. Or Hawkman's massive ego. Not to mention the fact that... you guys are so not gonna believe this... the JSAers sit on their hands and do nothing! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! This issue was a super-sized mixed bag of messed up, but Mike and Scott cover it all including -- the ads (which have a ton of info about the very short lived DC Explosion)!!

CALLING ALL JSA FANS! CALLING ALL JSA FANS! The time has come once again for us all to come together and celebrate as Michael Bailey and Scott H. Gardner proudly present the nineteenth episode of the best thing to EVER happen to the Internet -- TALES OF THE JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA! Whoo-hoo!! It is a packed ninety minutes this week, but every bit is guaranteed to leave you spellbound with intrigue or your money back! Scott and Mike begin the show by revealing not only the winner of their first contest (you know, the one they talked about once and then never mentioned again?), but also the super-secret identity of just where the heck the show's main theme comes from! Then Scott goes through a couple of recent finds and once again they are reminded just how messed up Dr. Fate's origin and marriage are. Next up are the ever-awesome e-mails where YOU the listener get to have your say and the guys once again go off on a number of tangents, but manage to contain themselves somewhat better than they usually do! It's down to business as they get into the penultimate issue of All-Star Comics with issue #73. This epic tale concludes the Thorn storyline and sees the Huntress (no, the other one!) locked in mortal combat with the Huntress (no, the OTHER one!) while the rest of the JSA battles with both Thorn and the Sportsmaster all while Wildcat fights for his life! Mike doesn't have too many problems with this issue, but Scott (as usual) has quite the list of quibbles -- all of which are pure comedy gold! Finally, we have the ads and there are some good ones this week, including a Hostess ad featuring the Man of Steel hisself...

Remember last week when we said that episode 17 was the greatest thing to happen to the Internet EVER? Well, frankly... we lied!! Because THIS EPISODE IS THE GREATEST THING TO HAPPEN TO THE INTERNET EVER!!!! Mwwwwaahahahahahahaha!!! Scott and Mike kick things off with e-mails and there is more talk of the JSA on the TV, which includes more on what problems Scott has with the BRAVE AND THE BOLD, a discussion on what sport produces the best athletes (hint: there are skates and a lot of fighting and no, the guys don't talk about Tonya Harding!), and a few minutes on whether or not Earth-2 should come back!! Also, Mike challenges Scott to a no-holds barred, over the top, best of the best, roadhouse style debate on Guy Gardner! Finally, a listener brings up the geek elitism topic again and Mike is reduced to tears! Actually that doesn't really happen, but it's still a darn good e-mail at any rate.* Then the guys jump into ALL-STAR COMICS #72, which sees the JSA fighting the deadly Thorn! Commentary on this rather good issue includes, among other things, the wonky artwork, Flash's inappropriate behavior at the group meeting, the Huntress being one of those obnoxious new people at work that ten seconds after being on the job starts trying to tell everyone what's what, an odd tangent on Dick Grayson's fighting ability, and whether or not Jay Garrick dyes his hair. And BECAUSE YOU DEMANDED IT!! -- Mike and Scott cover the ads! And what awesome, awesome ads they are. Ads for a Star Wars club. Ads for cool looking comics. Ads that show how dysfunctional the Marvel Family was. Also the fantastic DAILY PLANET page with more ASK THE ANSWER MAN questions! And of course... the Hostess ad. Sadly, Scott and Mike have to actually work hard to point out the messed up things in this ad because oddly enough it actually makes sense!! Well... mostly.  However, this one more than makes up for that...
* Note: Mike does the editing on this show, so the thirty minutes of Mike sobbing like a five year old whose blanket was taken away has "mysteriously" disappeared. Take that however you want to. When Chris has had a hard day at work, or his girlfriend has dumped him and hooked up with that stupid drummer or his rent is late and his dog died- he likes to share his pain. He does this by subjecting himself to horrible media and then bitching about it. It doesn't really make Chris feel any better, but Chris has heard that it's pretty entertaining to other people. Would you like to listen? Good, because here it is. This time Chris delves into the horrifyingly X RATED (and ECCCCH! RATED) world of fan fiction. Seriously, this stuff is not for everyone and this episode gets pretty ugly. Chris reads some of this stuff dramatically and plays inappropriate music and it's truly WRONG. Seriously, keep the kiddies or anyone who respects, loves or employs you MILES out of earshot for this little gem.
